1/2" vs 5/8" Sheetrock

I've got a 14 x 28 shop I'm building. 2x4 studs 2' oc, 8-9' tall. What's the pros and cons of 1/2" vs 5/8" sheetrock? All I know is 5/8" is 25% heavier, more expensive, and adds only .1 of R value compared to 1/2".

I would think you would need the strength of the 5/8 on the ceilings with 24 in centers but the walls would be plenty good with 1/2in.
