I would like to attach a shed type roof to my house. the existing roof is a gable style truss construction.the pitch on the house is 6/12. the shed roof will cover a deck that runs the length of the house and extends 12 ft from the rear wall of the house.My main concern is how to attach the new roof rafters to the existing roof. Is it an accepted practice to "overlay" the rafters on the substrate directly over the trusses?PLEASE HELP !!!
