Where can I find a chart that lists snow loads for a given area? I live in Northeast Oklahoma and am trying to figure loads for a new beam and have no idea what to use for snow load for this area. (No response from building department in town as of yet). :D

All loading requirements should be listed in the state building code which I believe is the 2003 International Residentail Code (IRC).

I've used this one to get in the ballpark before;

Remember, the local authorities numbers rule :wink: To give you an example of why I say that, at the time that list was put together, the wind #'s were correct for my county. Then for 2 years we were bumped up to a special wind region, last month the hot air in the capitol overcame the local high winds and we're back down to the original posted numbers. As for which way the wind blows, only your inspector knows for sure :roll: .
If anyone comes across a .org or .gov copy of this list or a similar one I'd sure be interested in having it.
Thanks for the comments on the beam thread Sweep, good insights :)

Thanks for the info. I will get correct numbers from the city inspector (if he ever calls back). This will get me in the ball park. Thanks again.
