I need to remove some chair molding in my home. I believe it was installed using an adhesive. How do I remove a section of this without destroying the drywall?

Any input is, as usual, appreciated,
Thomas

IF glued on, you probably are going to rip at least the paper off the drywall....which might be a good thing rather than leaving globs of dried glue on the drywall to deal with.....you may have some of that as well.

IF YOU'RE SURE it's glued on, take a utility knife and score the drywall on the upper and lower side of the molding so the paper doesn't tear off in big hunks past the molding line. Then you'll have to go back with some drywall tape and re-mud that area and paint.
