Helping my sister convert her garage to living room. I got the sheetrock hung and she had her husbands nephew come in to mud and tape (I don't like doing that, not much practice and not as good as I would like to be). He said that he had worked for a contractor in Texas and could do it. WOW what a mess now. You can see all the joints in the ceilings and walls and many are not smooth. Also he did not mud and tape any of the corners (ceiling to wall) or any of the walls under the bay window!!!!
My problem is (other than the fact that he did a sh***y job) he then sprayed texture over all of the surfaces (windows, water heater and electrical panel included). He has skipped town now and cannot be found.(not paid)
How can we fix all the joints and seams with the texture. Do we have to sand all of the surfaces and then repair the mistakes or do you guys have a miracle answer for me. I didn't think that we could just sand the seams and then try to match the texture since I have no idea how he did it.
I was thinking about doing the sanding (to do the grunt work and save on $$$) then call in a professional to do the finish work. Would most mudders and tapers do that or should I just have them do it all??
Thanks for all the help!!!
