Fascia size

The only vinyl fascia I can find around is 6" wide. If my trusses are done in 2 x 4's, should I nail 2 x 6's along the gable ends so that the fascia will fit, or just stay with the 2 x 4's and trim the fascia?

I am not sure what you are talking about, all of our overhangs are framed with 2x4's and the 1x6" fascia just hangs down.

I think you are going for the flush look, in that case I would use 2x6's so you don't have to rip the 1x6.

Nope, that's what I was asking. The fascia will hang down and the siding will just tuck up underneath it. Thanks.
