I'm joining two 2x4 framed walls (non-bearing) together at a 45 degree angle in a basement finishing project. Couple questions:
1) Would it be best to cut the sill/top plates at 22.5 degrees and join them end for end, or just cut both at 45 degrees with one of them forming the outside corner & the other "backing" into the first?
2) Should I rip a 2x4 stud with a 45 degree angle (thus creating a "solid" outside corner, or just situate regular studs at the corner which would create a small gap on one side of the outside corner?
If it's imposible to visualize this & youd like to offer help, let me know & I'll attach a quick sketch.
THANKS!!!!
