Entrance alarm

I am posting this for a friend. Can anyone reccomend an alarm/doorbell? to be installed on an entrance door for a cultured marble shop/show room.

here are the specs

1) the alarm needs to make the workers in the shop aware that someone has entered the show room area. (similar to the type that goes off when you enter a conveinence store).

2) it needs to be loud. the shop generally has compressors and power tools in opperation.

Instead of loud, what about lights? If it's loud enough to be heard over compressors and tools, it'll be really annoying when nothing is running.

The light idea is good, any suggestions on how to go about finding a product to do this?

Perhaps a doorbell (just the button part) + battery + a Solid State Relay + a lighting device would work.
