I have a story and a half framed up and did the siding myself down on the farm. There are no inspections or building codes where I am building but of course I want it done right.
While I'm trying to sell my present home I plan now to start on the inside.

What order should I do the HVAC, plumbing and wiring?
I plan on one air conditioning unit for the first floor of 2,000 sq. ft. and another unit for the second floor of about 1,000 sq. ft. to be used only when we have need of the upstairs bedrooms.
The last time I did this was 37 years ago and had a little more help. I am OK with the plumbing and wiring but worried a little about the duct work and planning on the all electric HVAC.

I will have to go from one job to the next, my question is:
Since I plan on doing all the work myself, does the HVAC have to be in before the plumbing and wiring?

I would want to know where the ducts are going before doing the plumbing/electrical. Do you know where your gas lines will be going? Since you are doing it all, I'd plan it out (1) gas, (2) ductwork, (3) plumbing, (4) electrical.

Largest to smallest. Generally that means HVAC and plumbing DWV first, then plumbing supply & gas lines, then electrical.

If you are installing the HVAC system yourself, I would strongly suggest having a load calculation and duct sizing done by a pro. Maybe even one of the guys on here who do it professionally could do the calc and duct sizing for a reasonable charge (it's a big enough job that you probably shouldn't expect it done for free, and after all, you get what you pay for ;) )
