Hi everyone, new here, great place. Heres my question...I am installing t1-11 siding for my landlord to match rest of house and for hand nailing I would use 8d galvanized, however the contractor that did the installation of existing t1-11 used what looks like some sort of crowned staples. Is that ok,because I want to know what kind of air nailer/stapler to use . Please don't laugh I'm an old time drywaller...lol.

I don't particularly care for using staples on any type of siding but if that's what you want I would use 7/16" or 1/2" crown staples running with the grain of the T-1-11. I personally would stick with your idea of 8d galvanized. You can run those with a siding nailer or a regular framing nailer - just depends on what you're going to use it for most of the time.
