I am getting ready to cut my roof overhang off the gable end to accomodate the new framing/rafters for a room addition. I plan to remove the tile and then cut on center down the existing end rafter (thickness of sheating). This would allow me 3/4" along the old rafter for the new sheating to be placed.
Is this on the right track?
Also, When I frame up the new gable end wall with raised ceilings, is this framed to the raised ceiling (10') or is this done with standard wall framing (8') with a flat rafter on top plate?
Thanks
