I'm getting mixed messages on where to put the vapor barrier on exterior basement walls. Some even say it's not necessary. I already drywalled most of it, but nothing taped yet. I put the studs and insulation ( paper faced r-11)up, then the barrier, then drywall. Is this right ? Thanks, Jack

Chicago is a heating climate, yes? You've got it right- the vapor barrier goes on the warm side.
