During the renovation of my upstairs bath..I encountered a leak which migrated down to my living room ceiling. Now..anyone famailair with older homes with plaster everywhere..you'll have wallpaper everywhere. This was their method of hiding cracks, etc. One layer over another over another..well that's what this ceiling was..8 layers. And when wallpaper laden plaster gets wet.....it starts to peel and peel and peel. Well to make my life easier..I scraped off what would come off..leaving quite an effect..but I used the embossed type wallpaper simulating tin on top of the various layers which were left and Presto....Can't see one layer line and even had an appriaser remark on how well the tin ceiling has held up thru the years (His wife even collected tin ceilings)..
