I did some remodeling work for my ex, and she needs to send in a bill to the insurance to claim what they have said they'll pay. This all originated from water damage. My remodeling work is all legit as per what was needed after the damage, but I have no idea of how to price the labor because I did it all in my own time and didn't charge anything for the work. The work included sheetrock removal and replacing, tape and bedding, and trim work. Also, some studs were damaged and had to be replaced. So, how much is my labor worth?
I would say the job was easily a full week's worth of work (40 MH). What's the going rate for man hour labor in construction?

Thanks for the help.

I'd go with $20 an hour. That sounds about even. At least for down here for that kind of work.

Thanks. That's a good figure.

Unskilled labor is much cheaper here. Skilled labor is more I think...it's harder to find good workers.

$20/hour is about $40k/year for us salaried folks. Is that about what skilled labor costs?
