Hello all, this is a great system you have all evolved here! This is my very first post, but I hope to see you all alot more and help contribute to such a great resource! :D
Question:
with a ridge beam, if you have a section of roof that extends off to the side of the "main" building, and the ridge height is a bit lower than the main ridge;
what are some options to tie the "floating" end of the ridge to the main one?
There cannot be a post under the internal part of the floating ridge. There is a post below the midpoint of the beam, cantilevering the portion that meets the main roof. What is the best way to connect the other end though without requiring a post below it?
I can upload a pic of the framing if it would help, I just thought I'd put this out there first.
