When they designed my condex with a single car garage they didn't take into consideration they would need stairs to get from the garage to the house. Now I have a garage that is too shallow to fit anything longer than a Hyundai Accent. See pic.

I need some ideas to shrink the stairs to increase the depth of the garage. I am not sure of the building codes here in Seabrook, NH, but will be looking into that tomorrow.

The current stairs are 50" wide, 43" tall, rise/run: 7"/10", platform is 40" deep. The door swings into the house.

I could swing the stairs to face the other way, but then they would not be facing the walk-in door I use.

Note: I removed the lower railing to gain a little space.

They could be as narrow as 36" from the finished wall, so 36-1/2". It looks like the landing has to remain at its width because of the door. That would buy you about a foot in the stair area only.

yeah if the dimensions are right for the 36 1/2 like don said you could just very simple cut the treads off flush with the 2nd stringer . be about a 10 minute fix.
