We have a vacant room and I want to convert it to a home theater. I already have a projector, and I'm thinking of buying 2 lazyboy recliners and a couple of ottomans.
I just need advice on what to do with the walls. Should I do something with it to make acoustics better?

Depends on your room but the answer is probably yes. Try also asking this question on "The Home Theatre Forum":

absolutely. The best solution is a combination of paint and fabric. All paint will bounce sound all over. You can put up some panels like pictures, or something like a curtain along the wall.
Something like this:

Heavy curtains are he way to go. By bunching up the curtains instead of stretching them, you end up with an increased surface area to help absorb some of the acoustic reflections. Go into most movie theaters and you will see this effect along the walls.
