Hello to all and I hoping to find some guidance here...
In May 2005 we added a large addition to our house. The addition included a 42' x 24' three car garage.
The contractor sealed the garage floor the same day it was poured. There are no expansion joints. The foundation contractor did not use any re-bar, saying he was going to use fiberglass reinforced concrete. I have since found out the cement did not have fiberglass.
There is one section of the floor, (in a corner) that seems to have settled and it has the worst crack, with a 1/8" gap and some loose concrete. This area is toward the inside of the garage and while it in not terrible, it has taken some of the outward drainage from the floor.
It seems that most of the cracking is completed. I plan on doing some kind of fix in the spring of 2008. That will have give it three years to settle.
I know one way to go is to wash, acid bath, fill in the cracks and epoxy. I am wondering if the garage floor tiles can be used on a floor with cracks.
Has anyone done this or had experience with them.
Sorry for the long post and hope to get some good advice. Let me know if more information is needed.
And yes, unfortunately, (like many others) we have filed a suit against out GC.
Thanks again...
