Last night at the new place where I plan to move in, I turn on the light to the basement. That bulb burned out. Not only that, the breaker blew too. Why does a breaker have to blow also when the bulb burns out? Also, is there an easy way to find out which breaker goes to which?

They shouldn,t blow when a light pops but strange things happen. Did it doing it again? If it did then get somone to look at it. The easiest way is to ask the electrician who did the wiring as ti what goes where. The next way is to turn everthing off in the house then turn on each breaker one at a time and go around the house turning on lights and plugging a light into lots of recetacles . Write everything down then turn off that breaker and turn on the next one and do the whole thing all over again.
