Premium storm door with upper and lower pneumatic closers. Lady of the house says that when she comes home and prepares to enter, the storm door quickly slaps her on the shoulder, leg or heel as she releases it to put her key into the front door lock. I asked the storm door company about it, but got a non technical, form letter type of answer. Store where purchased no help either. Had to go to only one piston for now and the door close closes much more gently, but at the end of travel does not latch if the front door is shut. We want to run the setup with two pistons as it was intended to avoid installation of a safety chain, but how can we make it slow to close from fully open to fast to latch at end of travel? Will the fluid type of closer be better than the pneumatic or can we modify the strength of the closers that came with the door (the adjustment screws on each closer have nothing to do with this problem).
