Any other floor would be easy for me, but this floor is something I've never worked with. The existing floor starts with a standard 2 foot stem wall, with inch and a half pressure treated topped with car decking. The only thing the new floor and floor have in common is they both have 2 foot stem walls. The new floor is supposed to be all post and beam with 2x12 joists. All the joists are running into the existing house.
Things to keep in my mind- the new floor has to be at the same height as the old floor
Options I'm exploring:
1.using top flange hangers and sliding them between the 2x6 wall and the car decking
2.Rotohammering a pressure treated 2x12 to the stem wall and putting hangers in it
3.Car decking the new floor, the same as the old floor
Any advice, ideas or criticism would be hugely appreciated, I'm starting this project in the next couple days, so time is of the essence.
Thanks for your help
