Can I put sheets of styrofoam in between the ceiling joists 2x4x6" sheets and roll the pink stuff over it. Ranch style home, ridge vent, gable vent, sofit vents. Would I have to put a vapor barrier between the drywall and styrofoam. My father does odd jobs and is tearing off the rotting roof of a $200,000 16 year old home. The maryland contractor glued 2x4x6" sheets of styrofoam between the rafters underside the sheeting and sealed the attic off, no ventilation whatsoever. Called it a California home (in West Virginia) 480 sheets of the stuff free.
