I'm building a home and did the excavation, siding, two furnaces and duct work, plumbing, electric, etc. myself. I did hire out the foundation, framing and drywall work.
I'm on the home stretch and am ready to do the Brazillian Cherry 3/4" flooring on the first floor after the drwall is finished (approx. 2,000 sq. ft. of it). One question on the floor work. Is it better to use an air assisted nailer for the flooring?
I have an open stairway to the second floor and have two stair building questions.
If I use oak, can I stain it to match the Brazillian cherry and save about $1500 or should I do the stairs in Brazillian cherry to match the floor?
Also, when installing the riser and treads do I remove the rough in treads or install over the top of them?
Thanks
Phil
