Maybe she was just having trouble posting, or thought so anyways...lol
My personal favorite for ANY power tool is DeWalt. Hands down the best tool in my experience. It's a case of "You get what you pay for".
I like a couple Dewalt tools - namely their cordless tools. The rest they can keep.

Rich, is there any tool in particular that you've had problems with? I have a 12" double compund slide mitre saw and have put thousands of cuts on it with no problems. Before i got it, I was buying a new saw every year. This one has lasted for over 4 years now....knock on wood.
I've not used any of their cordless tools as I prefer to deal with tangled-up extension cords over worrying whether the battery will hold out and keeping up with charger bases and extra batteries.
I just replaced a Makita drill that was almost 10 years old (never any problems with it) with a Dewalt corded model and it seems to have a good bit of power.
I have a Milwaukee reciprocating saw that is also quite nice since it has the quick change blade feature that is a jobsite necessity. No plans to replace it any time in the future.
Just curious if there's any particular item Dewalt makes that you recommend staying away from. Anybody else have any Dewalt horror stories?
My favorite brand is Milwaukee. I personally don't like the Dewalt compound miter saws - I have Milwaukee. The 12" blades on the Dewalt seem to deflect more than the 10" blades in hardwood (2" Rock Maple). Otherwise I just like how the Milwaukee is setup - more of a personal preference. I've had my SCMS over 5 years of hard use. I have the Milwaukee Sawzall, Milwaukee Router, and a Milwaukee hole hog.
The cordless tools are so much handier for doing metal roofs and running around a home doing odd jobs. And IMO the Dewalt has the best cordless stuff. I don't mind the Dewalt corded circular saw (worm drive) - it's light and has plenty of power. Most people use a Skilsaw until they try to cut rafter tails with it and it torques over.
