Can you use Tung Oil instead of Polyurethane to finish a wood floor?

You can, but tung oil will offer no physical protection of the wood, will be slippery to walk on, will absorb dirt and dust, and will need to be re-applied on a regular basis.

personally I recommend finishing wood with several coats of polyurethane some with aluminum oxide embedded in a few of the layers.

Use the tung oil and then the poly. Tung oil for the color and the poly to protect the wood.
