hi all...i'm new to this forum...i do post in other forums unrelated to construction...my name is joe and i'm a carpenter...i'm looking for ideas for my new sun room i will be building this spring....outside wall finish, i like vinyl siding...inside wall finish is where i need some help..( i will be doing typical stick framing)...something easy to clean, as i will have a hot tub inside..i have heard of using vinyl siding inside as well...but i don't like the idea of lap board or dutch siding look inside...are there any vinyl panels??..like half 1/2 thick (same as drywall)..this way i don't have to worry about door and window jam thickness...if i do have to use the stander vinyl siding in side...are there any tricks to finishing off near doors and windows?....if not, what is the most common wall finish for this type of room??..thanks for any help you can give me...joe
ps...if anyone has some pictures to send me, that would be great!!

Green - moisture resistant drywall. Denshield/Densglass are good alternatives as well. Then finish as normal with a good quality latex paint. There are hardboard panels as well that have a moisture resistant surface on them but are only 1/8"-3/16" thick so would need to go over some type of drywall.

hey rich...green board was my out if i couldn't do anything else...thats what i will use..i might put 1/4" bead board over the drywall and clear coat...i will have a hot tub in the room and need to be able to wipe down the walls near the tub...i will have plenty of windows around the whole room..i want to stick frame and osb board on the out side...should i vinyl side right over the osb board or do some sort of insulation first??..i will insulate the walls like normal before i drywall...thanks for your help, joe

IMO it never hurts, in stick framed walls, to place some type of sheet insulation (1/2-1" does wonders) on the exterior side of the osb sheeting. It gets rid of most of your thermal bridging at studs and headers.
