We had an HVAC come in and extend the gas line from our furnace to our laundry room (shared wall) when we first bought our house so we could have a gas water heater and gas dryer. We've recently replaced our side-by-side washer & dryer w/ some front loading ones we had stacked. Since the dryer is on top, the flexible gas line is stretched to its max, but we want to move them over further... I read that you cannot (per code) extend or combine flexible lines, and 48" is the longest one I can find.
I called up the company that extended the gas line initially and was told there's a $49.50 diagnostic fee just to come out and they won't give a quote over the phone. Does anyone have an idea how much it would cost to have the line run about four feet down the wall? Thanks :)

If the basic charge is 49.50 to come out then the 5ft of pipe and half hour labor the entire job should not run more than 150.00

1- 5ft peice of 1/2 or 3/4 blk pipe
1- coupling
pipe dope
2 - pipe wrenches

it is possible you would need a tee and drip leg.

Any good plumber will have it on the truck.
