View Full Version : Facia boards
I'm going to replace the Facia boards on my house. What's the best stuff to use?
1. Pine
2. Cedar
3. hardie plank
4. PVC type boards
I don't really care what it costs. I just want something that will last a long time.

You couldn't go wrong choosing a good fiber cement board....Hardie Plank.
I don't care for the fiber cement trim - it's hard to work with and it's a huge pain to get nails to go through. Go with LP Smart Trim.

I agree with Rich. While the hardie is a great siding product, I tried using their soffit product, and hated it. Smart trim is nice. Just be sure to get it completely sealed in paint to ward off the humidity demons, depending upon your climate.

I like the hdie trims as well. I haven't used any other wood alternatives. Hardy makes screws which are very easy to work with the material.
