I am building a 12'X16' shed. I have finished the framing, and about to put the osb sheathing on. I have orderd my truss's and they should be delivered in about two weeks. I am going to use the simpson ties for attaching the truss's to the top plate of the framing. My question is what or how do I reinfoce the truss's horizontaly? I understand that putting the sheathing on will reinfoce some, but what keeps the whole truss system with the sheathing attached from just leaning over side ways? I don't want to be on top hamering my roofing on and sneeze and puff I now have a flat roof. Any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve...:p

Steve,

Just curious as to why you would order trusses for a shed and to top it off, wait 2 weeks. Why not cut the roof by hand and be done with it in one day?

There will be a truss packet accompanying the delivery. In it will be a description of bracing for construction. Google Truss Plate Institute
This link has some details as well;

Joe,
I saw a homeowner in the neighborhood we're working in getting stuck on framing a 12' wide shed roof. I dropped by one afternoon, talked to the mrs. and took some measurements. Kicked around the scraps when I got home and made a rafter pair for patterns. I dropped them off, showed her how they worked and left them there. About 2 weeks later I see a jackleg come in with a trailer load of little trusses. You know the kind, couldn't cut a roof if his life depended on it. I was floored, no idea what the trusses cost.
