I've posted this under both plumbing and HVAC - not sure where it best belongs:

New construction, water heater closet opens to exterior, not interior. What are the door requirements? I assume I'll have to cut vents at the top and bottom of that door, but anything more specific (size of vent holes, door material, insulated door, etc.)? Or does the top vent have to be within a certain distance of the top of the closet instead of top of door (meaning I'll have to cut a hole in the exterior wall rather than the door)?

Does anybody sell those doors as pre-fabbed units? Can't seem to find them online. Rough opening is 30 x 80.

Water heater will be tankless type, LPG.

Any help is appreciated!

Your local inspector will tell you how he wants combustion air introduced into the room. Follow his instructions.
