Stoneman

Greetings folks. I just wanted to say hello. My name is Wyatt and I live in South Central Kentucky. I found this forum the other day while surfing for some information related to my occupation. I have been around boards for birdhunting for a number of years but this is the first construction related board I have joined.
I work as a manufacturers rep for a stone company. We are competitors with folks like Cultured Stone, ElDorado Stone, etc...I have been selling manmade stone products for 8 years. Prior to this job my idea of a laptop was a nail apron. I grew up in Northern Virginia, son of a mechanical contractor who does HVACR and electrical. I spent a few years between high school and college working for the family business. I supplemented my income as a student working for a custom builder who taught me the ins and outs of framing, drywall, decorative art wall coverings(plaster, faux finishes, ceiling murals) and masonry. My strongest love is masonry then colored plasters and finishes on walls for some reason. If you told me 10 years ago I would sell "fake" rocks for a living I would have asked you to walk off the scaffolding, and I would hope we were three bucks up in the air. I still lay natural stone, and some manmade when time permits and income dictates.
I travel alot for work, field alot of phone calls pertaining to issues with adhered masonry sysytems, and in general keep as busy as possible in these slow construction times chasing work. I also keep the tools dusted off working on our home in Kentucky, 48 tons of stone laid with another 100 to go at the house for hardscapes.
Anyway, nice shop you folks have here, hope you don't mind if I pull up a stool and learn from you all.
