I am just in the process of drawing up some plans for a shed and little sitting room for my wife.
Found a great old door today at a garage sale, that I want to use for her entrance. It is 33 1/4 by 79.

1. As this is a shed, can I hang the door using the jack studs or do I really have to do a jamb?

2. How wide and high should the opening be for this door?

Thanks,
Panther

Sounds like an old 2'10" door. Well they don't make em anymore so when this one fails you have a replacement problem. I Think I'd frame for a 3'0" door and build a jamb with shim and custom trim to cover the difference. Then when it fails you can easily pop it out and replace it with a stock unit. Frame opening for a 3'0 exterior is 38" wide x 83" tall
