20x30 hip roof (with 2ft overhangs)....8/12 hip roof....6x6 posts (3) at 13 ft down each side....what do i need for beams?...thinking doubled 2x12s.

Also a little uncertain how to best frame the corners of the beams as the meet at the 4 posts. Will sit them on top of the middle posts...but at the corners?

Thanks

No one is going to design your structure here for free. Find a qualified design professional in your area to help you with member sizes and details. We don't even know what region you are in, so we cannot apply the correct roof loads. You will also have to deal with issues of horizontal stability and uplift. Get some good professional advice so you don't lose your pavilion in the first windstorm.

Richard

You're right, the area is southeast PA/Philly which has a ground snow load right around 25 PSF.... horizontal stability and uplift covered...just looking for suggestions on the framing/connectors at the corner posts...

Any help there appreciated..

Thanks

My gut feeling is to fill the post top with cross members. That is 3 2x12s or 3 2x10s. Then use at least 2 flat nailer plates at right angles to fasten the post to beams.
You dont mention the foundation, siding or cross bracing.
