I recently asked about how to deal with a sub-par powerfloated surface. What I have is quite a few areas where there isn't a proper crust -- if you imagine that a loaf of bread has a crust, very smooth, and if peel that off the bread underneath is more porous -- so it's about 1/2 to 1 mm scraped off. Plus there are a few small holes, say 1 to 2 mm deep, maybe up to 2 cm across. I am looking for something I can fill this with, the way I would do with plaster or wood to get a perfect surface before painting. It needs to be able to stick to the concrete, not shrink, be waterproof, and be abel to feather edge. Any suggestions?

I think I've found a coating that will give me a sufficiently impermeable, scrubbable surface (it's for a cattery). But I'm now trying to figure our how to mend the small surface imperfection and holes before coating, and if that will be necessary if I manage to smooth the surface enough.

There are self-leveling compounds that would fill in those areas, have excellent adhesion, and would give you a very nice surface which can accept paint or any other material.

Thought about those self-levelling, but they don't seem to be suitable for the very shallow un-smooth bits - they seem to be for resurfacing the whole area, as far as I can tell -- and it's 75 sq metres, so it wouldn't be cheap! Or do you have a recommendation of one that will do patching?

For patching the best I've seen is Tamspatch. It's a very viscous mixture and has excellent adhesion qualities.
