Last year I repainted the door between our living room and foyer. The former owners painted over the stain with white paint. I heat stripped the paint off, then used liquid stripper to remove the stain. I sanded with 80/100/150 grit and primed with latex Kilz primer/sealer and 2 coats of Valspar gloss white. Latter on I got red wood grain stains showing through the paint. I have since washed the surface with a TSP solution, primed with 2 coats latex Glidden Gripper primer/sealer and a coat of latex Valspar gloss white paint. Not even a week later I have the same red stains showing through. Would an oil based primer/sealer cure this? Can I put it over the existing latex paint? I really don't want to start over because this is turning into a time consuming PITA.
