Many moons ago I was asked to help my friend and his dad put up a new room in their house. Now, I know what you're thinking. This should be a simple project. It's just a couple of additional walls and some other minor things here and there. Well, here's what happened...

I'm hoisting up a wall on standing on some pieces of wood (I'm 12 at the time by the way) and trying to hold it steady while my friend and his dad do god knows what when I slip. *Sigh* The wall fell down on all three of us and broke his dad's foot. Whoops!

It was at this point that I decided that I would only work with anything related to building if it was on the selling end.

Well, anyways, share some stories from your younger years. I'm talking pre-15 years old. Should be some interesting ones.

You mean like when I was a carpenter's helper, and we were assigned to shingle a steep roof, and all I could do was hug the chimney because of a fear of heights? Sorry, I ain't gonna talk about that...

(The b****rds fired me that afternoon...that's when I decided it was better for my blood pressure to only draw the pictures.

Damn. It woulda taken me a guaranteed few thousand bux to take on a steep roof. A friend of a friend fell off a ladder, went to the hospital and was released that same day. Three days later he died from an internal injury that wasn't caught in the ER. I pay to have anything high done for me.

Wow. That's an awful story about your friend. That's too bad.
