Hi all

My name is Dave I could do with some help with these two questions

Calculate the number of bags of cement and the weight of aggregates used to make 1m³ of 15 N/mm² concrete having a medium workability. Use a
40 mm aggregate and 30% sand.


Determine the mix proportions necessary to yield 1 m³ of ST4 concrete having a slump class S4 using 20 mm aggregate. The percentage of fine sand is to be 35%.

Can't help with the problem but I was curious enough to Americanize the question.

To convert N/mm2 to psi, multiply by 145, so 15 X 145=~2175 psi mix

It's asking for the amount of portland and weight of 1-1/2" stone for about a yard of concrete of about 2200 psi strength.

It really frosts me that you go to these foreign countries and they don't have the respect to measure in inches and pounds. Sixteenths and thirty seconds are just such easy concepts to teach and to work back and forth with decimals.
