Hi all,
Been having a problem with the plumbing since last summer. We keep getting this loud, irritating noise from the pipes. It's extremely sporadic- happens a couple times a week then goes away. We had the plumber here in August - they replaced the hot water exchange valve (??). Seemed fine for a while, then the noise came back. We finally got the plumber to come back, and he replaced the valve again. Was good for a bit, and now it's back!!!!!!! The plumber came back, but the noise NEVER happens when he's here. I took a video of it, and showed it to him. He said he'd order the part again. However, now he won't answer our calls or come back here. Anyone have any other ideas? The noise is definitely coming from the valve tho - it vibrates and cuts off the hot water pressure. Water heater is about 2 years old. Coincidentally, the noise started when they were doing construction on the water pipes on the street. Everyone had a temporary water supply hooked up to the outside tap for about a month. Maybe unrelated tho?
