Question about a covered porch.

Hey guys, having a brain fart going on and figured I'd check if anyone had any ideas. My parents have a home and want me to extend the roof over their back porch but the problem I'm having is the house is an L shape where they want it.

Of course their is a vally in the corner going up, just wondering if anyone has any ideas tieing it all in or if I have to leave a spae and guter on one side.

I always cringe when clients ask for an addition inside an L like that!! There is no good way to do it, so one is left with the choice of the "least bad". I've done it successfully with another gable facing out, and a cricket between it and the existing gable. It's expensive, because one is roofing almost double the area of the addition, but long term, it works the best. Use a good vinlyl roof on the cricket, and run it up at least a foot under the shingles.
