View Full Version : Nawkaw brick staining?
I am building an addition onto my brick home. I found out the brick on my house is no longer being made. I was told to check with a company (nawkaw) that could stain brick to match my house. I would have to find a similar brick to mine and then they stain it to match.
I went to their website and they have some very convincing pictures. Anyone know anyting about this ?

Im from Chicago area Im a mason contractor. Dont Know of ( nawkaw) but the guy I use is very good. HE has stained some spllitface block and sills for me and you cant tell .The stain he uses also water profs the masonry.I will check to see if he has web site.
Thanks. My brick hs a baked on face. I think that's what it's called anyway.
I was just wondering how much this costs. My project is about 5000 brick.
Also how close does the brick I buy need to be to my old brick?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I was charged 5.00 pr sq.ft. last year. Your local brick yard where you get your brick from should know a good guy they use. Dont know about the color but would try to match brick texture. Your area will make dif on what your charged.
Well today I found 2500 of the brick I need. I need about 5000 for my project.
I'm thinking about buying them. At least i will have enough to do the front wall and part of the end wall.
If I could come up with enough to do the front and end wall I would address the back wall by staining it. I think these 2500 are the last brick I will find though.

Nawkaw has been in business since 1987. They also have a 25 year warranty and the website shows several offices - including an office in Chicago...they also show residential and commercial projects. I would look for product information and references before choosing anyone to do the work.
