More global real estate companies and investors are now looking in buying real estate in India. Recently, Donald Trump Jr of the well-know Trump Organization in USA was looking for partners to invest in Indian market. Merrill Lynch and Co also bought 49% equity in several housing projects from DLF in Chennai, Bangalore, Kochi and Indore for Rs 1,481 crore. These projects are to be developed in about 7-8 years, as per reports. The investors are interested in the major cities for investment. The largest private real estate developers in Gulf, are also looking to build luxury villas and apartments and are also focusing in developing on the top Indian cities. The recent Cityscape real estate conference in Mumbai had attracted many developers from middle-east. Though real estate in Dubai is big and grand the returns are uncertain. So Dubai realtors are getting ready to invest huge money into Indian property and infrastructure given the lack of pressure on liquidity, as of now.
There are as many attempts to grab premium pieces of land belonging to anyone in Indian Cities, mostly meant for the poor underprivileged families earning less. For example, such land scam are rampant near the newly built Bangalore International Airport and in many other BDA Property Allotments thanks to a close nexus between many religious figures, bureaucrats, realtors, land legislators, criminals and of course, the so-called politicians. Whether of this party or that party, all make popular policies in high-decibel like giving away land for votes and later grab those from the silent lower middle-class. Some government ministers are just not happy with doing anything for the interest of People of India. Instead they normally resort to corruption and bribes to fill their own backyards. Such scams are surely a result of a severe lack of transparency from secretive governments and businesses.
