 I'm looking for a framing nailer gun but can decided on a Hitachi or a Bostitch. I read some review on the Hitachi, some people say the Hitachi always jam on 8ds nails but smooth on 10 ds & 16ds nail. I can't find any reviews on Bostitchor any other brand on the web. I was hoping you guys can give me some tips on which one I should go with. If you recommend other brands, please explane.

P.S. The model number and the brand's name would help alot!

Of your two choices I would select the Hitachi. But if I were going to buy another one I would buy a Senco. They are lighter and just as powerful as other brands. Currently I've got a Grizzly nailer that's not too bad (cheap price) and they have a couple new models out now.
Hope that helps.

I have had the same Duo Fast framing nailer for 16+ years, I have had a Senco, Bostich (both of which I sold off) and a Porter Cable. I seem to always come back to the Duo Fast. Always dependable, shoots well and rarely jambs. Nails might be a a little harder to come by, but it's all in the planning. My PC is very forgiving of the nails it requires, is balanced nicely, and works well. I have had double firing problems with the Bostich too many times. I see alot of crews who are less carefull with their tools than I use Hitachi alot.

We use about all paslode stuff anymore. The air nailer and the cordless use the same nails and they are easy to come by around here. They work good but do not drive all the through engineered lumber. We have a bostich utility (coil) nailer that we have used for the past year and i like it alot with the exception that it does not toe nail very well. It holds over twice as many nails and has more power than the paslode. It is kind of heavy and not balanced real well to stick walls together but it is not bad. It is awesome to nail flooring down with. We used to have a couple of full head Hitachi's and they were very good but no one else used them so nails were hard to get. I have never used Senco but alot of people do and like them. I don't know what you are using your gun for or how often but i would just suggest to look at a bunch of different ones and pick the one that fits you.

Hitachi for framing and Senco for everything else.

Rich, this sounds like a good topic for a poll!

I am a huge fan of the duo-fast framer #2 would be paslode. I pin the safety back on my duo fast guns - the only way to fly- nothing but Senco on my trim tools.

One of our company policies is "no tools will be allowed on sites that have had their safety features altered or removed". First offense is a writen warning, second offense is dismissal.

Powernail makes a good nailer. You can view a selection of their products here http: //www. tools4flooring.com

Preach it, brother.

I can't stand people who do that or tie back saw guards. It is just as easy and fast to use the tool correctly if you'll take the time to learn.

That said, I keep a couple of Senco 701's around. They will shoot anything including concrete nails.

I have a cousin that has his own framing company and they dis-engage all of the safety features because he says it saves time, well he set the gun on a scaffold while he was getting down and it shot him in the knee 2 times with a 3" nail. 3 months later he still has problems with his knee.
