I can't seem to private message, so here goes.
OK, I am a dumb arse when it come to building, so I do not want this thread to go the way of another thread that was posted recently.
My coop is a touch over 4' wide and 8' long. The peak is off center at 3' from the back wall and a little over 1' from the front wall. My back wall is 66" high. How freaking high do I frame the front wall to the top plate? I am guessing ~ 82". I figure I can adjust the ridge board height a RCH if it doesn't work. Is that about right? Will my peak be 94" to the TOP of the ridge board?
I am going turkey hunting. That is something that does not hurt my brain like this stuff!!!

Hey Sakoluvr,
Hopefully we can get the forum software smoothed out soon.

Hey Don. OK, I am freaking a little because I need to frame my final wall for the coop- the front wall. I am having difficulty making it the correct height. My back wall is 66" to the top plate. I am using a 8/12 pitch. The peak is 3' from the back wall, and 1' from the front wall. Rafters will be 6" and a 8" ridge board (overbuilt, I know). I am having a tough time trying to figure out the correct height for the front wall. I came up with 86" to the top plate via joseph fusco's online calculator. can you advise me please? Thanks.

I'm assuming the level seatcut on the rafter is 3-1/2" wide. This will make the HAP about 4-1/4", vertically from floor to top of rafter in my model is 66+4-1/4" or 70-1/4".
I've got 82" to top of front wall and 93-3/4" to top of ridge. Sounds like you're building it mighy close to the way I'm visualizing.
Pleasepost pics and advise for changes. The feed store is going to give away free chicks so I've got to build one. Why do I think the feed store is pretty sharp :)

Sweet! My drawing is showing 94" to the top of the ridge, and 82" front wall, 66" back wall. Looks like I am heading in the right direction.
I am a little embarrassed to post pictures! This thing is so overbuilt (I think), and maybe under built in other places.
I have the frame and floor built and leveled in the yard. I have been building the walls in my garage, and have not tacked them down yet. I still have to start on the front wall (maybe this evening). I am adding 2 windows, so I thought I would do that wall last. One of the side walls has a people door framed (6' tall), and the other wall has the chicken door framed.
Don, you have been a big help since I started this chicken condo.
