For a shed I am building, I need 3 utility windows. Since I don't need to insulate the shed, the number of panes is irrevelant. I would prefer a window that could open up though. The window would need to be around 2' wide by 3' tall. What is the MOST ECONOMICAL window for this application? Which brand would you recommend? I am trying to find a cheap window; the cheapest window at Lowes is $70.
Thanks!

Call around and see who carries Croft brand windows. They have a line of mill finish (silver)windows that I always use for my sheds. When my supplier is out of the Croft windows that I usually buy, I head over to Lowes as they have the next cheapest windows. A 2' x 3' Croft window will be about $42, maybe a little more in your area. They even come with screens. They might even have a website with a store locator....seems I've used that before.

Thanks for that suggestion! I checked out crofts website, "Croftmetals.com". Their products look good! I wasn't able to find a dealer locater page though. Do they supply any home improvement stores such as Lowes or Home Depot? Thanks for the help!

Now that I looked at the website again, I remember calling the 800 number and a helpful young man told me all the nearest locations I could buy their windows. The number is 1-800-222-3195 and you can call 7am-5pm CST weekdays.
I looked at Lowes today, and a couple of isles over from the storm windows and other metal windows are the mobile home windows. That's the windows I buy when my usual supplier is sold out of the Crofts. The second smallest size window is $43 and it is almost comparable to the Croft. Seems like the size was around 30x32, but I can't recall exactly.
Let us know what you find out. Croft is based in Mississippi, so they may not be available nationwide, but I'm not sure.

Today at Lowes, I met a real nice salesperson who sold me 2 mobile home windows for $10 each! They looked like they had been on the shelf for a long time, and he was ready to get rid of them. These windows were normally $36, yet with his excuse of them being damaged, which they weren't, he sold them to me for 10 each! These windows are the type that have three sashes on hinges so that when you turn a handle, the windows crank outward.
Thanks for the help!

Excellent Deal! Yeah, those were discontinued by Lowes quite a while back, but will be perfect for your application since you can crank them open and get some cooler air, even when it's raining.
