LEED Certification

Is anyone here LEED certified? If so, I have a few questions about you went about obtaining the certification, and how long it took you?

We have several LEED AP's in our office. I'm supposed to be getting certified this year. Biggest issue is studying. Get the study material. Test is pretty difficult from what I understand.

The US Green Business Council (USGBC) has a lot of informative resources online. Perform a Google search for them and I think you'll find more information than you can process.

As a contractor (the end user) I do not need to get LEED certification, right?

Most LEED projects end up hiring a LEED consultant which gives an additional point to the tally. Personally, I think us having LEED AP's is a waste of time and money. Other than it puts a plaque on the wall. I do think a general knowledge of what they are wanting in their documentation is a must.
