We have an enormous pine tree in our front yard, with a maple tree sitting right next to it. These two trees are enclosed by a 15x30 feet box with railroad ties. We need to remove the railroad ties and are wondering what our options are for replacing them other than stacked stone? Also, what are our options, other than concrete or stone, for creating a new walkway to our front door? And, is there a long term advantage to using either concrete or stone, or another material.
