I am needing to find out how to figure what materials I need to pour a 12 1/2 ft X 20 1/2 ft slab for a garage that I am having built. I need to know how to figure what I'll need for footings, frame for the pour, and how much rebar I will need? A friend is building the garage for me, and I stubbornly told him I'd get the pad poured for him, and now realized I know nothing about this.

Any help would be appreciated!!!!!

Since you are asking these basic questions, get a contractor to pour it so your friend will have something accurate to work off and you will have something that looks good, works well and drains properly for the next 20+ years.

If you are lucky, you may have to get a permit that gives you free inspection to protect you from yourself.

If you are novice with concrete, a large slab can easily get away from you with very bad results and lots of extra expense-----contract it
