Ok, I live Northwest of Houston, Texas on three acres. We have been living in a mobile home for the past thirteen years and the land has long been paid off. Our plans were to build here after ten years. Those years have past and now we are ready. Problem is..... I have no idea where to start....
I've looked for a builder but all I can find is the cookie cutter home builders in Houston and I'm not doing that. Then its the exact opposite builders I fin that start out at 3k sq ft homes.... Can't afford that.
Where can I go to find builders in my area?
Also, I own the land out right and it's been appraised at $55k. Is this somwthing I can go to the bank with and use as collateral for a loan on the new build?
