I'm building a small portico to cover the front door of my house but since I am a newbie I am having a little trouble finding out the best way to construct the edge of the roof. Where do you end the plywood sheathing? Even with the subfascia board? Then apply the subfascia board and let the dripedge hang over it with 1/4" gap?
Any help appreciated!

The drip edge will forgive your mistakes. Just make sure the roof overhangs the finish fascia at least 3/4"

Yes, 'overlap' the plywood so it's'even' with the outside edge of the 'fascia' board, then, as Grumpy says, your dripedge is 'forgiving'. I like the plywood 'over' the fascia, then if water did somehow get below the shingles and the felt paper, it would still 'shed'. Also, the paper goes 'under' any vertical drip-edge, and 'over' any horizontal drip-edge.

No NO my mistake. I didn't mean install the plywood over the fascia sorry. I meant the roof, as in shingles :)
I worked on one house that the plywood DID overhang the fascia and we had to custom bend gutter flashing :(
