Hi all

About two years ago I did some home renovations which included hanging, taping, and mudding new drywall in several rooms. I used Easy Sand for the mud.

Before painting, I broom-swept and vacuumed the walls to remove joint compound dust. I applied two coats of Bullseye 1-2-3- primer, then two coats of Valspar eggshell latex paint. I was only working weekends on this project, so at least 1 week - and probably closer to 3 or 4 - went by in between each primer coat and paint coat.

So here's the question - the paint looks great, no peeling, flaking etc. However, the other day I scraped something against the wall, and a small patch came up. I was able to rub my finger along the edge of the scraped area, and roll up the paint. It looked like I'd be able to peel away some pretty sizeable strips if I tried, right down to the joint compound (it looks like paint and primer are coming off together).

What's going on? A poor bond between mud and primer, after all this time? It's not as if the paint sounds hollow when I tap on it. I'm debating whether to leave it alone, or see what I can peel off, and go from there.

Thanks for any advice.
